Position:  Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is the chief financial officer of this leading nonprofit organization with a $3 million annual budget and 37 full-time employees.  The director supervises an accountant and works closely with other senior staff to carry out the mission and strategic plan of the organization.  This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and four or more years of accounting experience; a CPA certification is helpful.

Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council has been recognized locally and nationally for the qualityof its programs and management.  The organization is about to enter its 35th anniversary year.  It provides a broad range of adult education and family literacy programs which serve 4,000 clients or students each year.  It has a stable funding base that is made up of approximately 50% government grants and 50% private sources.  There are a number of growth opportunities for the organization in the coming year.
