Thrive is the young professionals advisory board of Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council. Thrive supports GPLC’s overall mission to better lives through learning.

In addition, Thrive does the following:
  • Raises awareness of GPLC and introduces the organization to new people
  • Raises funds to support GPLC and its programs
  • Attracts volunteers
  • Identifies GPLC's next volunteer leaders
Thrive helps young professionals develop as leaders in the Pittsburgh community. Members of Thrive:
  • “Thrive” in an engaging leadership role
  • Gain meaningful board experience
  • Expand their professional networks 
  • Interact with GPLC Board of Directors and staff
  • Directly impact GPLC students

The mission of Thrive is to support the broader vision of Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council. As an advisory board, Thrive engages young adult leaders via fundraising, networking, volunteering, and community advocacy in order to promote the goals and programs of Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council. Thrive provides an opportunity for young professionals to develop as leaders and collaborate with others who share a passion for improving lives through adult education and family literacy. Thrive encourages its board members to, and helps GPLC students, reach their fullest potential and participate productively in their community.
